Recently we were invited by the Nigerian Institution of Surveying and Geoinformatics Students, as guest trainers during their National Survey Inspire Camp and Conference of South West Zone held at the Federal School of Surveying Oyo and the Northern Zone held at Federal Capital Development Authority Utako, Abuja.
The event provided a platform for students to gain hands-on experience with modern surveying equipment and technology.
Our team of two experts from OTIC Surveys Limited conducted the training sessions, focused on the practical use of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers, total stations, and Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS). The team utilized SinoGNSS equipment and total stations to demonstrate the applications and benefits of these technologies.
It will be of interest for us to point out here that we have successfully installed our ComNavTech COR Stations at the Federal School of Surveying (FSS) Oyo, and OSGOF Abuja, which were utilized during the training sessions to demonstrate their practical application.
The students, divided into three groups to ensure active participation, displayed enthusiasm and asked pertinent questions to demonstrate their understanding of the subject matter. The training sessions were highly engaging, and the students appreciated the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with modern surveying equipment and technology.
We were really honored to be part of this camping experience and the opportunity to contribute to the professional development of young surveyors. Our participation in the Land Survey Camp also demonstrates our commitment to promoting excellence in the surveying profession and supporting the development of future surveying professionals.
