A recent bathymetric survey we conducted for a colleague at the Yewa community in Ogun State has once again highlighted the importance of thorough and precise work in the field of surveying. Initially, we planned this survey as a one-day project, however, it was extended over two days due to the unexpectedly vast stretch of water, measuring approximately 13 kilometers in length. Despite the additional time required, our team remained committed to delivering high-quality results without compromising accuracy.
Upon arrival, it became apparent that the area to be surveyed was quite narrow, and the weather presented an additional challenge with overcast skies throughout the work. However, the team was undeterred. The South S28+ Echosounder and SinoGNSS N5, tools that have consistently contributed to the success of our work, were employed to gather the necessary data. These instruments proved indispensable, ensuring that every survey aspect met the highest standards.
Before the survey commenced, the Oba of the Yewa community was informed. His approval and the cooperation of the villagers facilitated a smooth operation for our team. Again, the road to the site, though untarred, long, and mostly narrow, did little to dampen our team’s spirits as they embarked on this significant assignment.
Our commitment to excellence drove the decision to extend the survey by another day. Rather than rushing through the job, we prioritized the accuracy and quality of our work, understanding the importance of the data for the client’s planning design. This approach not only ensured the success of the survey but also reinforced the trust and satisfaction of our client—a key factor in our continuous growth and reputation in the industry.
