The process of conducting property surveys is often seen as a routine task, but the reality is that each survey presents a unique set of challenges. In the case of a recent property survey we conducted at Pakuro and Wawa in Ogun State, the survey team encountered several obstacles that added complexity to their work. From difficult terrain and dense vegetation to unexpected delays and a small injury, the challenges can be said to be as diverse as the landscapes themselves.
One of the challenges faced during the property survey at Pakuro and Wawa was the bad roads. The roads leading to the sites, especially Pakuro site, were not just challenging but outright inaccessible in some areas. Navigating through rough and uneven paths made transportation to and from the sites a daunting task.
The team had to grapple with overgrown bushes and an irregular property boundary, hindering their ability to immediately commence the survey work.
There is also the problem of Irregular Boundaries and missing beacons from the existing properties close to the property the team was surveying. Surveying relies heavily on accurate measurements and precise mapping of property boundaries. In the case of Pakuro, the boundaries were far from straightforward. The survey team faced the challenge of working with non-linear boundaries, making the demarcation process more intricate and time-consuming. This aspect of the project required heightened attention to detail and advanced surveying techniques to ensure accuracy despite the irregularities.
After completing the survey at Pakuro, the team faced an unexpected hurdle when transitioning to the Wawa site. The client was not yet ready to accompany the surveyors to the new location because he was in a meeting that lasted for hours. This delay resulted in an extended period of waiting which the team did not plan for. At around 6:00pm, the client showed up and the survey was conducted successfully.
The property survey at Pakuro and Wawa in Ogun State proved to be a demanding undertaking, showcasing the diverse challenges that surveyors may encounter in the field. From navigating difficult terrain to addressing overgrown vegetation, dealing with irregular boundaries, and facing delays induced by clients, each obstacle required a unique solution. Despite the challenges, the survey team demonstrated resilience, professionalism, and adaptability, highlighting the critical role surveyors play in ensuring accurate and reliable property data even in the face of adversity.
